Hey guys,
So today was not a good eating day at all. Well, I had a healthy breakfast, Greek yogurt, some oats, and fruit, but everything after that, besides some fruit and veggies I had, just continuously got worse and worse, health wise. Most were snacks I hadn't had in a while, like cheesy Cheetos! But I will make better choices in days to come.
I spent the majority of my day in a pool today. My siblings and I got to swim, which is my favorite thing to do. I was so happy in the water, weightless and smooth. Anyway, I did a few laps in the pool, apart from playing and messing around, which I considered my cardio. Silly, right. And once I got home, sun kissed and tired, I did the third workout of the FirGirlsGuide. I was glad I still got up to do the workout since I was tired, but it's about pushing yourself, right?
Later that evening, my brother really wanted to get out of the house so we all went to Target and our favorite boba place, random. Target is surprisingly entertaining; there's always something new to look at. So we walked around and eventually made it home.
By now, it's late, and gosh am I tired.
Goodnight,
Jas.

Fitness Day 2
Hello,
So, today I didn't do a very good job of eating healthy.
For breakfast I had a small amount of left over veggie lo mein and chicken from an awesome restaurant called Chen's. My family and I love that restaurant; everything we have tried is so good! Anyway, I had that and a bit of vegetable soup that my sister didn't want.
For lunch my siblings and I went to Flame Broiler, have you been there? It's so yummy. They are known for not having any MSG, dairy, and for not frying their foods. I think, apart from Subway, this is the best ("healthiest") fast food place out there. I went with my siblings and ordered their chicken vegetable bowl with brown rice, the healthiest I could get while eating out.
Since I didn't feel too happy with my food choices for breakfast and dinner I decided to have whole wheat crackers and cheese for dinner and my favorite, chips and spicy salsa. I enjoyed the two so much yesterday that I just had to have more today.
I'm glad to say I finally ran outside today!! Woohoo! I live near the beach and run near there. But before I ran, I did my usual warm up, jumping jacks, running in place, that sort of thing, then did another FitGirlsGuide circuit, grabbed my bike and cycled down to the beach. I was so sweaty after the circuit, I did it in my room where it's quite hot, so it was nice being out in the cool evening beside the beach. I ran just back and forth for a few minutes before cycling back home.
I'm proud of myself every time I workout because I always prove myself stronger than I believe I am. Believe me, burpees are really hard and doing a few every rep for a few reps is something I'm exited to be able to do. I couldn't do for than just a few consecutively before.
Overall, I wasn't very happy with my food choices today but my workout made me happy.
Goodnight and take care,
Jas

Fitness Journey Day 1
Hey everyone,
So technically this is not actually day one of my fitness journey; really, today is day one that I begin to write blog posts about my journey. My journey started in January. I slowly, very slowly, started changing my eating habits and exercise habits. I am still trying to fight the incredibly powerful urge to be lazy all day but have found it quite easier to change my diet. Before I didn't eat as many fruits and veggies and ate a lot more junk food than I do now, but your body slowly gets used to it. I am really happy with the changes I have made, since I have struggled with my weight the majority of my life.
I am making this change because, as a person who loves healthcare, I am afraid of the diseases that may arise from a poor diet, little physical activity, and obesity.
Here are a few pictures I took quite recently to keep as a reminder of all the hard work I have and will continue to make.
These were taken on May 3rd, 2016.
So, I will mostly note the foods I ate and the exercise I did each day.
Here goes:
Breakfast was the "Egg McFitFun" from the FitGirlsGuide. This guide is an eBook I've followed for the past few months; today is day 1 of the new challenge. You can find them on instagram as "FitGirlsGuide". I really recommend the eBook and following their posts, They are incredibly inspiring and an awesome community to be a part of.
Lunch was brown rice with veggies that I made into "Fried Brown Rice" by infusing minced garlic, pepper, and red pepper flakes in olive oil for a few minutes and then using that to fry the rice. It's so good. (I may start posting recipes, if that would interest anyone.) With the rice, I had a few lentils and broccoli. It was honestly the healthiest yet incredibly yummy fried rice I've had.
Snacks I ate throughout the day which were at one point "Fresh Fruit Sorbet with Almond Milk," and some whole wheat crackers with mozzarella cheese, and because I have an absolute obsession with chips and salsa, I had some this afternoon also. Chips and salsa are just so good!
For dinner I mixed marinara sauce with ground pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, spinach and kale, placed that in the microwave and heated that up for a few minutes. While the mixture was warming up, I toasted whole wheat peta bread in the toasted. Once everything was as warm and as toasted as I wished, I placed the sauce mixture inside the folds of the pita bread and topped it with mozzarella cheese. It was soooo good! And, it only took a few minutes to put together.
Exercise today consisted of day one of the FitGirlsGuide exercise plan, which is a warm up, an exercise circuit, followed by a bit of cardio and a cool down through stretches. I love meditating after I exercise. It really helps me calm down, especially, as someone who is not in the best shape, reference by pictures, I use that time to "recover" from the exercise. It feels great.
And that was day one!
Good night, take care,
Jas

Disney's
Maleficent
(The Movie- 2014)
Angelina Jolie
As...
This new remake of the Disney Classic "Sleeping Beauty" is refined to show the story of the villain, Maleficent, who is not as evil as we were all taught. Maleficent's true character is shown and the audience learns the truthful ways of the infamous villain.
This movie had such magic. All the Disney magic that is advertised was displayed beautifully throughout the movie.
Disney once again, has done a grand job.
Maleficent's right hand man.
Baby Aurora
Two of Aurora's Fairy Guardians; all three were just so adorable and lovely, and lets not forget, tiny. (: hehe
Princess Aurora after her 16th birthday
Maleficent visiting the young Aurora
Elle Fanning ( Aurora)
Isn't she beautiful?
I very much loved, loved, loved Maleficent's make up. It was done so well; it is simple, but yet demonstrates the demeanor of the villain, brilliantly done.
The amazing Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.
She did a grand job depicting the character. Her acting is incredible, she depicts the hatred in Maleficent's heart so well, and her accent... just great!

This is a great Maleficent inspired eye make up that I found on Google. I love that her eye liner gradually transforms into one of Maleficent's horns, and the color choice is marvelous.
The Fault In Our Stars!
(Movie)
Never did I imagine I would cry so much!
I went to the theater with my younger brother, sister, and best friend Rosemary. All of us enjoyed the film. I highly recommend watching it.
Come on... Go watch it!! (:
The cinematic adaptation is very much like the book.
The movie is everything I visualized while reading the story.
The beautiful and handsome Shailene Woodley & Ansel Elgort <3
The two main characters' names
Aw (:
Hazel & Augustus' "thing"
"Okay? Okay."

The Fault in Our Stars
by John Green
I very much recommend reading this book. It is a great story of two teenagers in a modern and very different romantic setting. The novel is written in a style that is captivating and draws your attention right as you begin to read the first sentence.
Such a great story, and even better... it is now on screen available for viewing! Make a date to go watch this. I will be going tomorrow morning, and I wish others will as well. May the cinematic adaptaion live to its expectations and to the richness of the novel.

Friday Morning Walks
The beach, a place of sand, waves, seagulls, and salty air. This Friday morning I decided on taking a nice lonesome walk down to the beach, so I grabbed a few of my belongings and began my little adventure. It was quite gray for a June morning in Southern California, but that did not discourage me.
The salt water tickled my toes and welcomed me with a soothing cool. This walk made me feel energized and gave me a greater morning happiness. Make a plan to take a walk from time to time; it may develop into a new glorifying hobby.
